I'm having the exact same problem. Started last night. I can open the messages where someone has commented on my photos but can not open comments. Can't open friend requests or friend accepts. Can open event invites. Sorry to hear this is happening to others but happy it's not just me as I'm new to blackberry as of 4 days ago and thought I did it.

Facebook rolled out a new feature yesterday, where in your status (or whatever its called now) you can now Tag peoples names in your status updates.

you can start typing your status update... (for instance)...

"going to buy a new blackberry with '@friend's name' at the mall"... and it tags that persons name and hyperlinks to thieir profile.

i think this change in Facebook had some adverse effects to the Facebook for BBerry app and this is why its all screwed up.

Same problem here as well with storm 9530 gf having same problem too. Glad to know its not our phones. Hopefully facebook fixes it soon. Anyone know if this has been reported to facebook tech support?

Me too. I'm having the same problem. I have to go to the mobile site to open messages on my curve. Its kind of irritating.

Ah! I thought I was going crazy! I'm having the same problem. I did notice that once you click on the email facebook seems to linger in the switch applications bar so I guess it's trying to open and remains as an open application on your phone. I hope they fix it soon!

I dunno what the problem could be. I do know, that they came out with a new facebook app for the storm. You may want to re-download.

Well this is great. I thought there was something going on. Sadly I didnt get any response so I thought it was something wrong with my phone so I tried a wipe and reinstall .151 then when I tried reinstalling .151 It wouldn't load because it said there was some email application setup file missing so I had to load .148 instead and then it wouldnt accept any of my saved apps so I had to go and download them all again which i have a ton of and now when i plugged my phone in DM to add password keeper because it didnt download back to the phone it prompted for system updates which i said yes to and now it got hung up on the connecting to device so I am stuck in limbo p issed off cause everything is effed up and now I find out that the FB issues are effecting everyone. Sad day for me and my Storm, if I ever get this thing back up and running

it's been going on for a few days now...seems to be an issue with RIM servers...but not all RIM servers, some people aren't experiencing the issue

i've just logged out, and recieved email updates, and used the FB mobile site instead...

also some fishy stuff going on with the FB desktop as well, not refreshing alerts as "read" or "viewed" or whatever, so there's always the red number in bottom right corner...
