I have the blackberry curve 8330. I have the new facebook app as well. However, my friends facebook pictures will not come up when I am receiving a call (they did when I had my other curve, this is a new replacement.) I have all of the options selected under the apprication options. Also, under my contacts, each contact does have their "Facebook Name" displayed. What do I need to do in order to get facebook pictures to pop up during phone calls. Thanks
Something happened to my FB pictures that I still can't understand. When someone calls the picture is reduced to a like, 1 cm by 1 cm square. Everyone's pictures used to be decently sized and then one day they changed. When someone calls the picture is ridiculously small and pointless. Ugh.
I was having the same problem. I deleted the facebook app, re-downloaded and re-installed it, then went into the facebook options and re-ran the setup wizard. That kind of helped...it matched about 1/3 my contacts. Is there any way to match the rest? What criteria does it use...just name? Or does e-mail address or something else have to match between facebook and BB contacts?
Just an assumption - I might be wrong (never seen a 8330) but only 3G phones and phones that have WiFi allow for simultaneous data+calls.
On 3G this happens "behind the scenes" or automagically, whereas with WiFi, you should ensure you are hooked to an access point so your phone uses WiFi for data and carrier signal for calls (works on 8900).
Unless you have one of above scenarios - you cannot transfer data while on calls which could explain the lack of FB pictures or refresh thereof...
Makes sure their photos are in the address book. No photo = no image to display when a call comes in. If the photo is there and it is still not showing up, then that doesn't sound right.
3G or Voice+Data doesn't apply in this situation, since the images are being pulled from the address book.
About 3/4 correctly have their facebook name and picture associated with their BB address book entry, the rest don't. The names are spelled identically and in most cases they have the same email address on facebook and in my address book, so it should be able to match the contacts on either of those criteria but for some reason it's missing several of them.

I solved my problem. If you go into your friends list in the facebook app then click menu on a contact there is an option to "Connect to Blackberry Contact". I went through and did that to the ones that didn't connect automatically.
