    Hi:

I have a Bold in which I use ATT's VM. However, I also have a 8900 and once in a while I change devices.

Is it possible to install the VM COD files on my 8900 to use the VM feature?

Please let me know if someone has tried it and made it work.

    Thanks!

Yep, I did it no problem. I put the 5.0 beta on my 8900 and had just gave AT&T my old bold IMEI. Works like a charm.

It's nothing to do with the cod's as they're already there in the 8900... they just can't be activated

It's all down to your carrier, and the device model they have logged on your account. As VVM is currently only available for the 9000 on AT&T, the only way you can get this working on an 8900 is by fooling them into thinking you have a 9000 on that account. I guess it's a compatible service book thing

I did read a post by a guy who had a friend at AT&T who changed his account device model from an 8900 to a 9000 and hey presto... VVM on his 8900

Is 5.0 required for VVM to work?

I don't think so. It first appeared in OS 4.6.0.219 for the Bold back in January.

    I haven't used a 4.6 in a while, but I'd assume it's in the latest 8900 4.6 OS's.

instead of starting a new thread I'll post here...

Any updates on when/if VVM will be available for the 8900?
