    1. Go to blackberry.com and download the current version of Desktop Manager (I'll just assume you're using a Windows PC, and not a Mac.)

    2. Download a version of the 8100 OS. A current version is usually stickied on the top of the Device threads...

    3. Plug in your device via USB to your computer.

    4. Open the .exe file.

    5. BEFORE you install the OS, remove the vendor.xml file.

But just an FYI there are threads showing step by step how to do this...

download and install version 4.6 without media manager
after u've installed that......install the operating system u dowloaded for the phone (think u already installed it though )

    1) go to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\App Loader" and delete the vendor.xml file in the folder (should be at the bottom of the list)

    2) Launch the "loader.exe"

    3) Follow the dialog box and select the relevant options as it applies to u

    4) wait patiently while ur os is loaded.

p.s. make sure the checkbox beside "Email Attachment Services" is checked.

    That's all i think

Then u enjoy ur phone. If that doesn't work, u'll have to wipe ur phone then load the os. Sounds a bit technical but its pretty easy to do.
