i never ever had a problem with memory leakage until i installed beweather. after install my memory loss was unstoppable and since i deleted it my memory is back to normal and more stable.

just an FYI in case anyone else has this issue and may not know exactly where it's coming from.

I don't think your experience is typical, since thousands of users (including me) have used BeWeather for years without experiencing an unstoppable memory loss. That's not to say it didn't happen to you, but an undesirable interaction between BeWeather and your specific combination of theme, OS version, hardware, R/F signal strength and other apps you have installed is likely the culprit.

Yeah, I have to agree with JeffH, it must be a combination of apps and theme on your phone. As with most, I've been using BeWeather for quite some time now and haven't experienced this type of behavior from my 9650.

I used BeWeather on a 9700 and on a 9000. The 9000 was not exactly known for lots of app memory, but I never had memory leak issues with BeWeather on the 9000 (or on the 9700).

Did you look at the app management options to see how much memory BeWeather actually used?

Or are you just assuming that a drop in memory corresponds to having installed BeWeather...

The initial version that was put out there for promotional OS7 "freebies" was a HUGE memory leak. HUGE. The newer version is running fine.

I'm using the latest version offered for free by rim, averages around 800k to 1mb of ram...and never knew anything about app management until I read this post, just learned something new! I'll be checking other apps out of curiousity.

Don't set it to refresh frequently or just do it manually. That may help.

Make sure you change the option to check previous history usage (like the previous day or week), not just "Current", just fyi.

9850/9860 have bad memory leaks caused by the media processor. Not necessaily BeWeather. Though leaking memory is not going to show up by looking at what each app is currently using. That would not be a leak. Leaking memory is memory lost to unnecessary functions. Like an endless loops in the Java OS from some busted code that will continue to run after the app is shown as closed.

This is the version I got, and I've had no problems with memory leaking.

I had to reinstall everything on my BB 8530. I downloaded Berryweather from the Bellshare website and it comes down as a JAD. I impoart files on my pc BB app and it doesn't work.

I then downloaded Beweather via App World on my BB. OK, that downloaded but I can't find where to put in the license key. Normally it would be on the About screen but the place where the license key would go is blank and I can't enter into it.

How do I get this application up and running?

You should go to the page containing .jad files from your Blackberry browser. Then the .jad file would launch the app installer.

Something like 'options'--> 'register' or 'unlock the full version'?
I do it every time after the installation of the OS (and that's pretty often), but I don't remember the exact path: I just don't have any troubles with finding it.
What does the 'about' option tell you? It should either say 'licence valid' or 'unregistered' or e.g. 'trial for 3 days'
