It has nothing to do with the app...as long as the theme you have allows an app to be there, you're good, you just have to move the apps around so the one you want shows up where you want it to.
If you are talking about having Berryweather as the homescreen wallpaper then yes you must have the paid version and must also be running OS4.7 or higher.
If you just want the Berryweather icon in a weather slot get a theme with a weather slot and put Berryweather in that slot.

The Theme Im using has a spot for it, as it was shown in the picture. I put BeWeather to put the Temps on the top of the home screen but I get nothing? I don't get it?
If I'm understanding this right, you want the Temperature in the notification area (the thermometer), and you have a theme with a weather slot.
As far as the notification bar temperature, this may be a paid-only feature. I'm not entirely sure, as I just bought the app without trying the free version first, after hearing all the raves about it here on CB. If it's not, I'm not quite sure why it won't work, as that feature will incorporate into any themes notification area.
Can you link us to the theme? Or a picture of the spot for it? There's a huge difference between a Weather Slot and a BerryWeather Hotspot.
A Weather Slot is where you can put a weather app (BerryWeather, WeatherEye, BBWeather, SimpleWeather, etc) and the icon shows the current conditions / temperature. These icons only update on .428 or higher. With these slots, you can load any icon into it. (for example, some people use these themes to have MeterBerry in a convenient location on their homescreen.)
A BerryWeather Hotspot is an area that theme devs usually make sure is clear of Hidden Today text, icons, and other things so BerryWeather can be a part of your Wallpaper there. Also, when you click on it, regardless of whether you do have BerryWeather appearing on your homescreen wallpaper or not, it will open the BerryWeather application. For clarification purposes, you cannot put the BerryWeather icon here, as it is not an icon slot, but a hidden hotspot.
I have Beweather on my 8330. You need to move the icon to your top row and set a location. Then set your homescreen icon in your settings to select what you want to display
