I almost lost my Fb because I am using third party FB application.
I think it is IM+ Lite (the chat function)
FB detected as unusual Login from Germany. and then they ask Friends photo verifications. (I am Login from Indonesia)
sometimes it is hard to verify because I have many FB friends (almost 1000), and some of them not even Human photo. sometimes guitar, building. and the FB verification ask me who is it ?

and I can not answer wrongly.

is there anybody here facing same problems ?

I had the same issue. My account was hacked twice from the netherlands. I figured it was a 3rd party app that was leaking info. I was using nimbuzz at the time and did a little research and found other people having the same problem. I immediately deleted nimbuzz and changed all my fb privacy. I haven't had the problem since.

IMO stay way from the im services. Just glad that I don't im that much anyway..use text msg

If you use a third party app to use facebook, they'll log in from their servers (which could be anywhere, like Germany or the Netherlands) and you'll have to authorize them the first time.
Not saying your account didn't get hacked, but that's something to consider.

IM+ has used a different server each time I tried it. After unlocking my account 3 times, I won't be using it again.

Luckily, I dont use Facebook much, and NEVER use the chat, but this seems like it could be a very legit concern for those who do use it.

Thanks for bringing it up, and I could certainly see why they would find this suspicious. The app developer should have better planned and tested that functionality.

I used beejive for fbchat and recently I have problems logging in to my account. I think it has something to do with fb privacy issue on 3rd party software because I keep getting wrong user name / password notification. I stop using it. End of the story.

As scrid2000 says its the server location that fb doesn't know as your usual source, for example opera will show has Norway and you'll be asked to do the fb photo test, same if you use a 3rd party browser to check your online banking, the server will be shown as different to say your usual home internet source and you'll have the account frozen for security in most cases.
Also fb has been kicking out odd security notices, for example us here in the UK get a lot of 'alerts' saying that a US user has accessed our accounts, all rubbish in my opinion and fbs way of making users change their passwords for some reason

Even if you don't pass verification facebook will never ever ever delete you account. It simply turns you invisible when you try to delete it.

It also tells you if you ever want to come back to facebook that you can just come back and log in with your email and password to continue off where you left.

So if you fail the image test just re log in and your good to go

The hacking issue with FB can be addressed if you're just a little more discriminant in who you select as friends. There are a ton of bots out there that will infect your account with porn spam and utter crap. Check their page before you allow them as a friend and make sure it seems legit and "G" rated.

I'm thinking unless you're gaming on facebook, you probably don't have 1000 close friends.
