    WeatherTAP.com: Real-time radar, satellite imagery, lightning strike data, storm tracks, weather forecasts

    They have services geared to mobile browsers - customizable to various devices...and for the serious weather enthusiast, it's worth the $6.95 a month to do all it can do.

    No, I don't work for them...just a satisfied customer who just found their mobile services existed - tried them out, and am pleased.

    I am using the FREE weather programs. Frankly, if I signed up for each of these modestly priced monthly subscriptions I would not be able to buy food (which might not be a bad idea for a few months!!)

    What other free ones are there? I have BBWeather, but I'm actually taking it off as we speak, because I think it's terrible.

    Someone posted a link to "weathereye" that allows you to enter US addresses.

    My question about it: Can you EXIT/CLOSE/STOP the program? I don't see a way to STOP it from doing background updates. The "exit" icon does not appear to keep it from doing periodic updates. Am I missing something. Occasionally, I want to close everything but the five (?) applications that BB always keeps processing.

    I have been using Accuweather.com. It has the weather report and radar. It's really great when I know a front is coming. I check the radar and see if I need to reschedule an appointment.

    I've been using WeatherUnderground for a few years now:

    m dot wund dot com (sorry, not enough points to post a url...)

    Put in your zipcode and you'll get some nice BB size screens with plenty of detail, including a radar map. The regular page, wunderground dot com is very good too. It's mostly everyday folk like me? who upload their own weather station info into the system. A very interesting site for the weather techies... and free.

    Anyone having issues with WeatherEye showing "No data" for the short term forecast? All the others work, just not the short term.

    Same here - no date for the short term forecast. Maybe because we use a US primary address? Long term forecast works great however. Love the QUICK access to weather info!

    Unfortunately, Verizon Wireless is not on the WeatherEye's list of carriers (according to their homepage). Is there a way to make it work? Has anyone tried using it on a VZW phone anyway?

    @organman:

    Noticed you're using Verizon...how did you get WeatherEye to work when they don't list Verizon as one of the carriers supported?
