    I am trying to find an IM app to keep in contact with my American friends....Any advice on what IM app is the best to use on my BB9900??...Whatsapp keeps coming to mind but some say it drains the battery??

    I have been using Hookt with great success. I ditched whatsapp when my chat history kept disappearing.

    I like IM+ but it's a little pricey.
    GTalk works good too.
