I am currently running GMaps but have recently installed SmrtGuard and in order to use the "where I've been" feat I need to install BB Maps but I recall reading on the forums that BB Maps doesn't work for ATT is this still true.

It works, you just need a program to open it since ATT blocks the icon. I believe. You shouldn't have any problems since SG will open the App. I know I can launch BB Maps with Quicklaunch and Poynt, but I have no Icon.
I see I see. Yea I downloaded BB Maps but all I got was the lbs.ribbon in the app list. Weak that ATT would block BB Maps from working on, well, BlackBerries on their network. Thanks Blacklac!

Yea...still doesn't work on my phone. Tried opening it through SG but it says I need to install the APP which I did but no dice. Oh well everything else works like a charm. I'm sure when in future updates it will be compat with GMaps.

You guys should be asking what's the real reason they did this? Is it to push us all onto google platform which is run by our watchers, I had bbm before it worked fine even thou the icon vanished I never realize it was att doing the pushing around. The only reason I never used it cuz of its slowness and no directions setup when driving. Really is where I was nessesary? Everything else works fine. Ooh well smrtgrd should give options thou more options is nice especially which maps to use. I notice phn gps is cool. But still a real gps for the job when driving is a better solution.

Dl and install the lbs.ribbon it will make the BBMaps icon viewable assuming you do have BBMaps on your device. The lbs.ribbon is only to make the ICON APPEAR. To actually install BBMaps you need to open DM and check it on the apps list or upgrade to a 5.0 OS.
Check options>advanced options>maps to see if BBMAPS is indeed on your device or just check OPTIONS>APPLICATIONS
