hello all, i am super new to blackberries this is my first one, i just got an unlocked blackberry curve 8900 and i am using t-mobiles unlimited talk/text plan for $50 with 200mb of data, i downloaded the facebook app and it will not work, says service plan doesnt support this, is there any work around or way to get it to work, and i called tmo and they said since i am prepaid unlimited they cant make it a bb data plan or something please help i just want to use my facebook app!

The Facebook app requires a BIS or blackberry data plan to connect to RIM's servers and use the app. There is so far no prepaid BIS plan available. Your prepaid data is not BIS- it will not work. (I'm assuming you are prepaid as you stated and not on an EM+ plan). You need to get a Blackberry data plan. There is no cheat, no way around it, and nobody can help you. It's something you have to add to a plan that you have to get through a carrier.

Go to a T-Mobile store, ask to start an Even More Plus plan, and get 200mb of BLACKBERRY data added on for 10 dollars a month. That's the only way to use the Facebook app. Period.

I am a BB specialist for a major carrier and last few days I am getting numerous calls about malfunctioning BBs.. if caller sounds young first thing I ask is .. "do you have FaceBook app"...

Fix is... download the BB Desktop Software... install it.. backup your BB... update the BB... do NOT restore anything... your BB will run like new...

many users do not have the BB Desktop SW.. it is IMPERITIVE to use it to back up your BB... in case of lost/stolen/broken...
