I have just finished fixing this problem if you are an ATT Customer. Hit me up if you need some help or want Blackberry Maps Back on your handheld. This is on OS 5.0 newest release from Verizon. This is NON Hybrid, Steady Data Connection with no EDGE/edge issues. Will be testing my solution for the rest of the night and will report any problems I have, but it looks like so far I have fixed this problem

This currently works/ I dropped EDGE 15 minutes after posting but fixed the EDGE situation by deleting my APN settings. Will be working on trying to figure out a solution to keeping APN settings.

Interesting turn of events in my experiments. I have noticed that my phone won't stop receiving emails that are pushed to my device if I am in "edge" mode and not connected to BIS, infact it will bring the phone to EDGE and deliver and drop back to edge if I have my APN settings in. Just by disabling the APN settings and not physically deleting them I have a steady BIS connection. Extremely useful information for me, and something that I will be happy with as I like OS 5.0 more than .148/.90 radio swap. I haven't had a phone crash in 24 hours now and am liking the fact that everything is so fast. This seems like a small compromise I have to deal with and will continue to use my phone this way and enabled my APN settings when I need to use a TCP connected application such as UtaIRC

I posted a fix for this earlier this week. I also run fine onAT&T w blackberry maps as well. I run .323 though as I had too many problems with .328.

    Good luck!

In response to my thread, I dissected my .ipd files for services books and this is what those little bastards @ ATT Did it so you have a clear understanding about how they affected our settings. All you have to do is rewrite your service books after you receive ATT's Service Books with the original BBMaps Service book entry and you will have it back.

You must never of tried to use .148. If you did you would know you would of had to do a .148/.90 Radio Swap to get a steady EDGE Connection
