Negative. BlackBerrys do not allow for apps to be stored / run from the memory card.
People say this is a security issue, I consider it a major shortcoming.

I agree that it should be able to, but whats the worry? Are you worried you might run out of room for apps or something?

Yes it does, especially considering I was doing this on a Audiovox Maestro about
seven (7) years ago and that was a Pocket PC PDA.

I do agree that it's a short coming, but you would need to install lots and lots of apps to fill up the memory on a 9700. I have more apps on both my 9630 and 9550 than I will ever need, some I rarely even use, they are there just in case. I have about 10 themes on each of them too, and I have over 100mb in free memory.

You would need to really try to run out of memory on a 9700. If you do, I can't believe all those apps would get used consistently.

My concern isn't so much for the newer devices (though it still should be an
option). There are millions of 128mb, 96mb and 64mb devices in use and this would
be a major benefit for those users.

Totally agree. I currently have 52 apps (use them all) and am sitting at 118mb
