i have a german O2 curve 8900 unlocked, and my friend has a verizon storm unlocked.
we both live in the middle east and running on the same carrier.
the app world is actually working on the storm , while on my curve i can browse apps but i have an error when downloading them, i even tried purchasing an app and paypal actually deducted money from my account and the app is refusing to install.
is this because the store depends on the original carrier if the device?
is there a solution for this issue?

It doesn't linked to what provider we use, instead it links to vendor id of canada, us and uk.
Like me, I have vendor id 100 which is t-mo us, I can install and download even though I'm in Indonesia

Yup, but it will void you warranty. Google: mfi loader, be careful not just it'll void your warranty but also it can make your blackberry a brick.

well i wont use the warranty anyway since i have a german phone and i dont live in germany, but i guess its a bit tricky to do that, and i dont wanna risk ruining my phone.
ill wait till rim open the app world to all carriers

Word of advice ... don't try to change the vendor id on your phone.
