My friends showed me on his g1 that there is an item scanner and what it is, is its like a camera with a line in the middle and u put it over a bar code and it detects what the item is littlery scans it and tells u prices in your area at different stores if someone can get that for the storm that would be amazing!!!!!
$5? This could easily range from $20-30 for an app like this.. Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems like a very hard thing to accomplish.
Right now, yea. But in a month when so many more apps are out it (and all the other overpriced apps) would be around $5 or something.
I think I remember reading something about this somewhere. It was the same time I read about the Storm acting as a garage door opener and the other app to control lighting and stuff inside your house. I was probably high when I read that stuff because I have no recollection as to where it was! :P
not exactly what your looking for, but until someone does develop this app, if your looking for a shopping program to compare prices, on blackberrys mobile site there is a program called Slifter which allows you to input a upc code or product name, and it compares prices based on your zip code
Amazon has an app that works similarly. You can take a picture of the/an item or the bar code label its self and itll search their data base from Amazon.com and you can read reviews and so on and so forth.
Only gripe is that it takes a few minutes (4 maybe?) for them to find the item, but it is free.

Its actually not hard at all. Its a pretty simple concept. it just recognizes the barcode, and searches databases of the area you're in. No where over $10...although I wouldnt pay more than $3 for it.
