Cube runner is a game for the iphone and the pc where you are an arrow flying past blocks in your path. The farther you get the more points you get. It gets faster and harder as you go. I would definitly be willing to pay much for this game.

I wouldn't expect it to look anything like that if someone did create it... That game DEFINITELY needs OpenGL to move that fast.

EDIT: I did just install it on my iPod Touch though.... looks like alot of fun but i'll try it tomorrow, I need to get some sleep soon.

Yea i was thinking the same thing about the open gl.. damn i was hoping the storm would be able to contend in the games department.. if cube runner is too complex than that says alot..

In hopes of The Storm 2 having open GL if RIM isn't crazy..

Ya if cube runner isn't possible then that's a serious blow to what I thought this phone could do in terms of gaming. This just made me that much less excited for the app world

The Storm 1 will if RIM rewrites the OS, or at least provides an installable API ala DirectX for Windows that at least provides app devs with access to the MSM7600's OpenGL hardware.

EDIT: Maybe the launch of the app world will coax RIM into writing an API for app developers if enough of them request OpenGL support. I mean, the devs will know it exists since they obviously know the specs of the Storm's chipset.

Ya I have no clue why they wouldn't implement it in the first place.. I wish I could just call whoevers in charge at RIM and just be like umm do you not want the phone to be a huge success?

So the storm won't ever receive openGL support?

It might possibly if RIM rewrites the OS to support it. The phone itself has the hardware for openGL but the OS doesn't support it. This baffles me how people could be getting paid with such stupid idea's...

Dumb: "Hey lets make a phone and put openGL hardware in it and write the OS to not support it!!"

Dumber: "Hey what a great idea!"

Once again this just proves that the hardware is way ahead of the software

So true, I'm getting so frustrated that this phone has so much potential thats not being taken advantage of.
