    I have had my Bold for a while, and today, it restarted and the message: "APP ERROR 523/ RESET" came up on my screen, and every time I try and reset it (click on reset), the same message appears.

    What do I do? Is it just the case of connecting it to the Desktop manager and updating it? Will I lose everything since my last backup?

    You are more than likely going to need to reload the OS on to the bb with the desktop manager.
