i dont get cell service at home, my sis has an app called textplus but i cant find it through my phone, is there anything like this?

I dont think there is an app that will let you send "traditional" texts - but there are other cross platform messaging apps like WhatsAp, Viber etc that work on all the major mobile phones and use data like BBM so you can use wifi. The other party has to have the same app installed to receive the messages.

Old school AOL Instant Messenger will allow you to send a message to a phone number, so in essence, a text. It runs on data so you can use it on wifi.
