Any gps apps work in New Zealand except google map?

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum. I have a t-mobile 9700 and I don't have BIS as that needs to purchase separately. Now I'm stuck with the gps app as I found out that bb maps is not working in NZ. I've tried google map and think it does the basic job, I've also tried amaze and it seems to be not working. Now I'm looking for something better. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd like something offline.. But having trouble finding an offline map of nz or auckland that runs on os 7.1

Ive found some java offline ones. Will report back much later if they work (phone still on its way). Dont think they'll be fancy, but I just want ones that work for walking or getting lost, not directions.
