Any advice? - My girlfriend has lost all her apps

she just phoned me in a panic and asked if I can try and help find out what happened.

She got a message saying there was an update for CrunchSMS and when she processed the update, all of her third party apps have disappeared.

even more bizzarely, when I asked her to check in options >> apps, not only are they not there, but the whole folder is missing :eek: she has tried a battery pull with no success.

I don't know too much info, I'm not even sure if I've picked the right model number forum, but any advice on what might have happened would be greatly appreciated by me and a very stressed out girlfriend.

she can always download them again but the fact that she's lost all her BBM and CrunchSMS conversation strings is not ideal.

Try looking in the downloads folder. When I switched from my Curve 8310 to my 9700, all my apps ended up in the download folder. Maybe something happened and it moved them there. Good luck.

hi, a wee update if anyone is able to help

it turns out it's not exclusively her 3rd party apps that have disappeared.

she has still got things like CrunchSMS, Urbanspoon, her current theme etc

but has lost BBM, App World, Browser, Messages. pretty much all the important stuff.

There was an error message about Java when it happened but she can't remember what it said.

Can anyone offer any advice at all. As she is without a Browser, Email or App World, she can't get any of it back without sorting the problem.

well done to Carphone Warehouse in the UK, one of the guys from their self-titled "Geek Squad" (their helpdesk) remote connected through her laptop and stayed 30 mins past the end of his shift to get it sorted.
