App World said there was an upgrade to this version. So I dutifully upgraded only to lose the icon. Uninstall, reinstall, nothing creates an icon. It doesn't even show up in Quicklaunch correctly, so I can't launch it that way, either.

But hey, at least it's compatible with OS7 and the 9810 LOL

    Same here.

Looks like an oversight for amazon releasing a buggy version.

Same with me. I called AT&T, and they are putting me on the phone with someone from RIM as I type this.

I am on the phone with Mike from RIM right now. I am having trouble making him understand how the app has totally disappeared. I told him that I read comments from three other users how installed the upgrade and lost the app. I even checked the music file and the line "Music Services" is missing. I am on hold. More to come.

To think App World was giving me fits trying to install this. It said there was an update, and then there wasn't, and then it was back again. I should've just given up! LOL

Hope you have some luck barskin. I didn't even think to backup/make a jad for 1.0.0.87

I'm still on hold. I hope there is someone there who can figure out how just to uninstall the upgrade.

Update: Mike from RIM has disappeared now. I have been on hold for 10 minutes.

I remember that 1.0.0.87 wasn't compatible with OS7 when I got my 9810, so I downloaded it through Amazon. Now it is nowhere to be found on Amazon.

He wanted to have me reload a whole new operating system. I said that would probably be useless as the app seems incompatible with OS7. I told him how I saw a bunch of comments by other OS7 users who had the same thing happen. He said to "look for upgrades." Hey, that's what got me into this jam in the first place. Now, I am looking for a sideload from someone who didn't upgrade.

When I did the upgrade recently, the Amazon MP3 icon was changed in appearance and renamed to "Music Store" and was installed directly into my Media folder, rather than the Downloads panel. Perhaps the same thing has happened to some of you?

I just posted up an OTA from my version of 1.0.0.87, which I had d/l'd directly from Amazon after getting the 9810:

    Thanks!!

However, this is getting rather strange. I uninstalled 1.0.1.22 and let it reboot.

Then I installed OTA from your link. The icon is still nowhere to be found! Bizarre!!

So I rebooted again, still nothing. Looking in Application Management, I see it, but the icon is the same shopping cart as the Amazon.com app. Ugh!

You sure that's the right cod in there? After installing, both the Amazon MP3 and Amazon.com apps have the same icons and are both 579.8KB...

My bad -- that is the .cod file for the store. I have the mp3 v.1.0.0.87 on my device, but its .cod file is nowhere to be found, at least on the .cods I get with an app backup on BBSAK. Let me look again, maybe it's called something odd.

Edit: I just double checked in Applications Management on my device, there are 4 Amazon MP3 .cod files, all beginning with net_rim_bb_storefront, but BBSAK doesn't pull any of them in an app backup. I'll see if there is another way I can pull them off my device.

Thanks man - your help is truly appreciated!

I got the infamous 907 error OTA, so I put it all on my SD card and it installed fine

Did it ever occur to anyone that *maybe* AT&T doesn't want the competition from Amazon? Perhaps AT&T is blocking Amazon's MP3 app so that people will be forced to use the AT&T Music Store? Just a thought.

When I upgraded my Amazon app to this version, the icon app changed to "Music Store" and is depicted as a white shopping bag with a blue music note. Perhaps another version in the future will fix this.
