A friend has a Curve 8330 with Verizon, can you install AIM on this? I don't see it as an option like I do on my 8330 with Sprint.

I did search, but the posts I found were from 2007/08 talking about Jive something that was a pay service.

Is there a better way now?

I have AIM on my phone. Works great. Follow this link and you can go from there to download it.

I Googled and searched here first just to see, and saw a bunch of issues people were having I guess a few years ago.

I didn't try it for myself, but yeah, you're right, I went to AOL.com, downloaded the AIM client and it worked great...
