Question: I was told that when I send and receive IMs on AIM they count as text msgs. Considering how much I I'm, it doesn't match up with the number of txts that I end up with every month. Are IMs part of data?

    AIM uses DATA.

But be sure that you are using the one available from the mobile.blackberry.com site and not ANY of the preloaded ones from Verizon.

The IM clients that are preloaded on Verizon use text for some bizarre reason. The ones you download from mobile.blackberry.com or other third party sites use data.

The rep was likely just confusing the two.
