Can someone tell me what the extension is for 3rd. party apps? What I mean are they: cod, alx, etc. Just curious. Thanks for any help. Btw, I have Verizon Tour w/ 47.

Once installed, they show up as cod files. You can see them so listed under Options/Advanced/Apps (OS 4.7) or Options/Apps (OS 5.x).

When intended to be installed under Desktop Manager they are usually a pairing of the COD file(s) and the alx file. The alx is used by Desktop Manager (DM) which file(s) to load for an application. Some apps consist of more than one cod file which is why is noted file(s).

If intended to be loaded OTA (over the air by the browser) they might be JAD files.

Certain Jad files can also be placed on the sd card and if you use Media Player's Explore function, can be installed from/on the device.
