Out of interest does anyone still get email / BIS service on really old devices running OS 4 or OS 5?

Is 8820 considered an old one? I'm still happy using it.

Sure. Thanks. I hope BIS support stays on for a few more years for all legacy devices.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread...
But who's still offering BIS these days, anyway?

I had a few old "original-style" 7xxx BB's, and I loved those things. Might even fire one up from time to time if I remembered where the box is squirreled away, if there was some sort of no-contract service (or low-cost) BIS provider out there...

Tell the country where you leave - it will help.. I assume that information that in Poland(Europe) i have 2 carriers who offers pre-paid BIS might not be interesting for you?

PS BIS still works for my 7290.

In US, Verizon and T-Mobile both prepaid. AT&T and US Cellular only do BIS by post paid or contract. I just activated an old 8830 WE on Verizon prepaid with not much problem. There is no app world though. I use Opera Mini to access Twitter, FB and GAB.
