That latter one is a bit overexposed, but it's correctable (since the camera allows manual exposure adjustment.) The sins of "averaging" metering (which is expected to occur in a scene of that type.)

Unfortunately with the compression and such that takes place on forums like this it's not possible to judge whether over-sharpening and similar things are occurring.... If/when I get my hands on one of these I'll do a detailed look at the shooter in it with some 100% crops for examination.

it's definitely not. I really don't know who made this video comparison. In reality, the Motion camera is a real scrap and especially when the light conditions are not absolutely ideal, the pictures are awful.

To be fair, that is what the video shows. In well lit areas you can get great photos, in indoor/low light areas you get decent to bad photos.

Maybe it’s just me but while IPx being a 1500 cad phone and bbmotion being less than half the différence in cost the photo quality is.....more than acceptable and imo not that significantly different.

This is the kind of crap that use my camera for 90% of the time. Using it to keep records of my stuff. Here I was changing out the light bulbs in the kitchen. And wanted a comparison of the new and old.

Beautiful neighbourhood, where is that if you don't mind asking?

    ***Edit***

PS: the picture quality is absolutely satisfying (in my opinion), it's dark there and you can see a really good picture. Great!!

I live in Canada. About an hour north of Toronto in a town called Bradford.

Low light shots do great, as long as you are not moving.

Took a picture of the frost on the windows today considering it feels like -26C. Had the phone practically up against the window and it still took a good pic. Looks like art.

The Motion is water resistant not water proof so it can still get damaged, it's not a great idea to intentionally submerge the device.
