Some of the podcasts I listen to, download on phone.

The worst part, you play BlackPlayer, and they come on in the middle of songs. wtf

Any way to stop them showing up when playing music?

    Thanks and Happy New Year

It is annoying. I don't even listen to music stored on my phone because even ringtones show up in the music library from Google Music, as an example.

Edit: here is the solution. The thread is about ringtones, but it should work for every kind of media: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel...ic_playing_my/

I created a .nomedia file in in some folders, and now only the real music shows up in Google Music. Hopefully it also works with BlackPlayer. :-)

I got rid of everything (e.x. ringtones) that shows up. I tired using this example you sent, long time ago. But to be honest, everything is so hidden on the phone, when you want to use a ringtone in a new folder, it won't come up when you are in the setting ringtone area. PITA
(things were much better set up when BB made phones)

And you can't tell a podcast where to go.

Anyway, for the most part, I don't like the layout of podcasts so I don't use it that much. It is a terrible app, no matter when one I use.

Try Antennapod? I think it has more settings to play with, including where podcasts go.

It gives you two choices for where they go but maybe it will keep it away from music.

And a tad easier to Search. Others, you need the exact name or it doesn't find it.

We'll see how this one works. Thanks

Does steam vs download mean it will or will not download? Stream doesn't download to phone?

This is the first one that gives me the option ...so that's good. I will stream it

Glad it's a step in the right direction! And yes, stream means it would play over wifi or data but not download to the phone for offline listening.
