Here's a short clip of the wifi continually connecting and disconnecting on my Motion.

Any ideas of the issue? It's been kinda random. It won't happen for a day, then will spend 15 mins going through the loop. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm on 2.4g or 5g for wifi. I don't know if it's my router though, because obviously everything other device connected seems to work.

After taking the video, it seems to be working fine again. It's just annoying because obviously I only notice it happening when I really need to be connected to wifi...

PS, sorry for the video quality. Taken on my Z30.

Try forgetting the network and/or restarting the router?

Look up issues for the specific android software and WiFi?

Are your 2.4 and 5 ghz networks named the same thing?

    Just some ideas

I tried forgetting both. And only giving the password to one. Still happened.

The two networks are different names.

I used to have a WiFi extender. That was my first thought that could be causing an issue. But it's been unplugged for days now. Still happens. Not all the time though. Maybe once a day.

I can't help troubleshoot until I have a Motion. Also I haven't ever used an android device so I'm not much help in that department.

Maybe get into your router settings and forget your device and forget network On the device so it's like refresh?

Might be worth checking out this post:

I have had a recurring issue with internet searches causing WiFi dropouts, my issue seems to be caused by the phone trying to connect to a stronger signal - in my case, my 2.4Ghz network as opposed to the 5Ghz network I'd rather have it connected to

Anything interfering? We do live in an odd world. When my Washing Machine or dryer come on they can sometimes pooch my wifi if connected through Sonos. Found out that both machines have their own router for sending info to their service center.

I don't think it's interference - I've scanned the networks available, there are a few around from neighbours at a much lower level, the problem only seems to happen when the phone *isn't* connected to the 2.4Ghz network, as that is the strongest signal.

    My temporary solution:
    turn on Motion wifi
if it starts turning on and off, press the power button and turn off the screen.
    wait a minute
press power button again. and wifi seems to be connected fine.

Mine isn't disconnecting so often but once in a while. I would say every hour or so it'll disconnect, I only have LTE then and after a second Wifi comes back on. It sometimes is annoying especially when streaming music or being on a video chat. Then it won't reconnect to Wifi at all and it all goes through LTE and eats my data. Sometimes without realising.

No, it still happens to mine. I avoid it by not turning off my wifi. it was most frequent if my wifi was off, then I got home, and turned it on on my Motion. Usually if it was already on when I got home, it would just connect like normal.

I had issues and doing this solved my problem.
Select your wifi - long press and choose modify - change ur IP settings to static - scroll down and enter ur wifi routers ip address (u can find this from any other device connected to same wifi) and save.
    Try this!
