Saw this at the MWC. Seemed well speced for an Alcatel.
I've posted this out of interest.
Surprised by some of the features. Face recognition, dual camera, ships with Oreo the hostess said...

Alcatel had a nice enough looking line up of devices at very budget friendly prices. Many here had hoped to see BBMo be able to be more competitive due to TCL buying power and perceived strengths....

But that isn't really possible or desired by TCL... they have to cover the licensing, secure software and better support or updates (Alcatel phones do get many updates) and they want higher margins.

BBMo is a different "thing"... comparing their products depend on you valuing the name as well as the security.... or the PKB when it's offered. Which is why the have scaled back on the Motion and delayed the planned high end slab and opted for two more PKBs this year. Right now the name and security aren't really valued all that much.

They have the high end spec Acatel 5 flagship phone which I would mind being rebranded as a future blackberry all touch device. It would still be hundreds cheaper than the latest Samsung and iPhone phones

But hundreds more than the same Alcatel.... and even then not really a flagship.

Rebranding of the same phones... will only make the "premium" cost of BBMo stand out more.
