Well... the compass is more accurate on Oreo.
It's a tad slower, but beyond that all is well. Half expected a slowing down anyway. I turned off one of the animation settings in developer options to get back some speed.
other than the WiFi calling not working , I love it
I've never had ANY issues with my phone until this update.
Now it won't connect to the car! It's trying - but it just doesn't connect.
I can connect IF I hold the off button and let it restart - however - there
is no 'messaging' when I do that.
I have deleted my car on the phone and deleted my phone from my car -
re-connected both - several times.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I wrote to BB and their solution was to do a factory reset! Seriously?
Their update messes things up and I have to reset my entire phone?
How aggravating is that?!
What car/system? Does your system need an update, perchance?
Along with the low storage warning, I reckon we'll have to wait for updates.
I've seem to of lost the productivity tab for some reason and can't seem to find a way to make it come back
Has anyone noticed poor gps lock since the upgrade to Oreo? Waze never had any issues until the upgrade. Now I'm lucky if I get a gps lock and accurate navigation 50% of the time
I've noticed that same problem on mine. Really annoying. I hate having to constantly adjust my display brightness all the time. On my Z30 I used to keep my brightness down to bare minimum & the auto mode adjusted it so it was always sufficient for me 90% of the time. The display features on the Motion suck.
I'm guessing Waze works primarily off network navigation, not actual GPS. So, this might be a reception issues of some kind.
well has been a few days that I'm using the Motion ,I'm learning how to navigate through the Os so far is fast I switched to Freedom - 8 Gig for 40$ LTE 4g sometimes shows LTe + dunno what it is... today an update window polled up saying downloading update 1.3 GIG. well I paused it because I think that is Oreo.. I'm still with Nougat... should I go ahead?? and download it?
Any thoughts?

I say go for it. I'm on it & haven't noticed any major issues.
Been working tickety boo for me although haven't tested absolutely every aspect of the OS since not everything pertains to my type of usage. I'd say go for it.
thanks guys
No problem. Good luck & enjoy.
I did install it last night so far so good
I haven't try all the apps but looks like there are no bugs... ( crappie I don't want to jink myself).
what an envy, few days with the Motion and already on Oreo, I have mine since November and still no update. Mine is a 100-6, I guess is a small sacrifice for the dual sim advantage
Just got Oreo on Etisalat AE,
I love the swipe up gesture to open the app tray, the track pad is genius - HOWEVER, does anyone know how to select the app/item highlighted the track pad has navigated to, I've hard double clicked, touch clicked, touched double click but nada!?!?!? what an absurd feature!
Just updated my device to android 8.1 . The user interface has changed. Very refreshing update . So far so good.
since my update to Oreo, have had to google how to turn off the very annoying loss of signal alert. that's a big change and then there is no more option that was real handy that if had your phone flipped you could control not getting notifications. can't find the settings anywhere. disappointing. that was a nice blackberry feature I used. ya the wifi indicator no longer showing activity is also a pain. that's it so far.
This isn't the wifi-calling notification is it? Are you on T-Mo usa?
Hi, no this is related to the loss of signal for the phone. I had to google more than once to see what others have been doing to fight this issue. There's more than a few folks complaining about this. So the short of it is to go to Notifications, pick Phone and change your Alerts to Medium. I also chose to put Default Notification to None. This hasn't impacted my legit other notifications that I selected for Phone, text, voice mail etc.
I have updated the device to Oreo a couple of days back. The device since the update has been overheating, sluggish and draining the battery very very fast. Battery lasts hardly 6 to 7 hours .
You should be able to disable minimized Google Maps under app settings, special app permission, then go to picture in picture permissions and turn it off.
