It's a bit sad... everyday wake has their January patch of course expect NA version of the phone..
Well if the Motion does get the January update in the next few days it'll be doing better than my more expensive rivals. Now that's sad.

Key words in that sentence is "more expensive rivals" ... probably extremely overpriced too no doubt.

And that is why I went with the Motion this go around. Much cheaper (subjective of course), great build quality, stellar battery life, and the difference in performance isn't all that noticeable (to me) compared to my more expensive rivals. Plus, looks like updates my be a little more forthcoming than we've experienced in the past with others.

On AAR748 (December patch), Locker didn't actually lock anything; third party file managers can still access the Locker folder on the system storage.

BBD100-1 with January patch and Locker seems to be working again.

    - not visible to 3rd party file manager in tree-view/overview (total commander, solid explorer); searching in solid explorer brings up an entry for locker but trying to access results in an error message, stating "requested file was not found"

    - not visible in termux; trying to access results in "permission denied" message

    - not visible from android file manager from mac os x

Be nice if one day Android took on MSFT's mentality w/Patch Tuesday (2nd Tue of every month), at least we'd have some insight as to when updates would arrive. Guess that's just dreaming though w/Droids fragmentation so unlikely to see such if ever.

Considering we are already two thirds the way through January it is already too late for "soonest". Need to see if Feb update lags as well, might give an inkling as to what we are in for, or not, w/Motion updates.

Well that's a good sign of sorts. Maybe if we pound on the update button enough times it'll give it a kickstart lol.
