My Priv died during that time between when the KEYone was officially released and when BlackBerry actually had units to sell and ship, so I bought a Moto Z Play. Which is an overall acceptable device with a truly unbelievable battery life. 11+ hours active time is the norm and after 48 hours of use I'll normally have 35-40% charge left. Thing is, I really want to get Back In Black, so to speak. How does the Motion's battery life stack up? I've read that it's good, but is it good compared to a Samsung battery hog or actually really good?

I realize this is totally subjective, but some community input would be a lot more useful than the occasional product review.

Moto z play and blackberry motion have same snapdragon 625 but blackberry motion has bigger battery 4000 mAh. I say it should perform pretty close since Moto z play has AMOLED screen and motion has led screen.

Thanks. I managed to mess up my phone with shenanigans that BlackBerry won't let you do and have broken several things. Including my ability to undo the changes. Looks like I know what me new phone is!

Yup get the motion you will never ever search for a charger again the battery life is outstanding

I have my Motion few months now. I am charging more or less every two days. I use the phone, I am not very heavy user but I use the phone a lot. Sometimes I can manage three days before battery drops below 15%...

The battery life will vary from user to user, but for me, it's scary good. It's rare when I get home from work at the end of the day with less than 85% left. To give a comparison, when I was using the Priv, I would come home between 65%-70%, which isn't bad, but the Priv had notoriously bad battery life. So I would consider myself a light user. Most days I'm home with 90+% left.

I have been getting 3 days consistently. Came from a Priv that I would need to charge by 5 pm every day. I am at 84% right now after a solid day of phone calls, emails, surfing a bunch of social media apps, wifi hotspotting, etc.

I've had both. The Moto Z Play and currently the Motion. I get pretty much the same battery life with the Motion getting about 45 mins longer on On Screen time.

I love the battery, with the PRIV I charged at every opportunity. Now whatever I do I finish each day with more than 50% battery.

I am getting about 2-3 days of moderate Motion usage. But after a heavy day yesterday. This morning I am at 58% battery. Can't complain, the Motion battery is amazing.

The real plus, in my mind, is the battery is so good you really don't have to stop and think about it during the day.

If you want a real keyboard, go for the KEYone black edition (emphasis on black edition).

If you don't mind glass, Motion should be awesome

Picked up mine and have been running it for a week now. I must admit the battery life has surpassed my expectations. As much as I love my Note 8, I think it will be parked for a while yet.

So I'm up at 7:45 each day and I'm pretty much on the phone , Instagram, twitter , Facebook, text, email and phone. By 10 pm I usually have a boat 20 percent left

Yup same here..its truly amazing to have a beast of a phone like this it's honestly the best phone ive ever owned and I came from a keyone which I loved too but this battery life is the reason I am sticking with this phone for a long time. Wonder if there will be a motion 2

I think they will have to produce a new all touch every couple of years just to keep the BlackBerry all touch users happy

I'd be happy if they produced a much smaller sized all touch device. Maybe like the size of a Z10, an iPhone 4 or SE, or maybe even as big as an iPhone 5 or a Z30.
