Why is it so difficult to find a Motion battery. I found out that the DTEK 60 battery works if anybody has the same problem.

They have barely produced any Motions, so spare parts will not be nearly as plentiful as for the KEYone.

There is a certain Alcatel phone battery that will replace it as well - released around the same time as the Motion. @yamahammer would know better.

Thanks for that. I gave them the go ahead to use the DETK 60 . Not sure if it's as good as the Motion but have already committed

If you get the DTEK60 battery to fit and connect I'll be surprised. But if it does it will have far less capacity then the Motion battery.

The DETK 60 battery is up and running my motion just fine thank goodness. Hopefully I'll get another year or so out of it

This seller is reliable and has many hard to find parts.

Must be a very heavy user to wear down a Motion battery.

I'd bother changing it if the actual capacity were to drop below 3000mAh according to AccuBattery.

That should happen after about 2 years, probably. My conclusion is based on data from several used Motion units which I checked in my recent search.

If someone's Motion gets to the point where it won't get even 5 hours of screen on time, then I would just make the switch to something else, especially if spare batteries can't be found

what about the post here saying the Alcatel A7 replacement battery supply is plentiful and identical to the Motion's? If true it seems like that takes care of any current needs.

Yes, it would be nice to hear about real-life experience with Alcatel A7 battery.
I'm satisfied with my Motion but I'd like to replace the battery in 6-7 months.

What's the estimated actual capacity on yours right now? (AccuBattery after a few charge cycles)

Why test and potentially become dissatisfied with the result if it's still working fine now?

I was curious as to what battery health one would start to think about replacing it on the Motion because when new, it really is way above average.

    It fluctuates around 2,950-3,000.

Ah okay, by the way the more charge cycles you have after setting up AccuBattery, the more accurate the reading will be.

But what you're seeing is basically LE battery size when new, so you'd gonna be getting something around 5 to 5 and a half hours of screen-on time as opposed to 7 - 8.

Still serviceable but I can see why you'd want to replace it

Accubattery predicts around 4 hours of screen-on time. But I pay more attention to the actual running time until 15%-20% charge.
So far, this is a solid 1.5-day device. I assume after the battery upgrade it will be 2-day. It's fine with me.
