Using an unlocked Motion (AAR748 on BBD100-1) with Firefox as browser, I find that it is very slow to load pages either from the search bar or links in emails etc. I have good Wi-Fi connectivity with about 20+Mb download speed.
It is so slow that I frequently run out of patience and stop trying to surf the net.
Any ideas why it is so poor? Have I screwed up a setting somewhere in the system?
    TIA

Hard to say with no comparison. Does Chrome work fine?

Chrome loads quickly but I do not use it as default. May well have to change to using it but as I use FF on the PC, would prefer to stay with one browser!

Seems like FF pushed out a junk build then.

Quite possibly - not sure if others have the same issue.

Firefox 58 is getting released to Playstore in the next day or so. Hopefully that fixes your issue. If you are impatient its already at ApkMirror. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/mozill...-58-0-release/

I sideloaded firefox on my passport and noticed it as well. Thought it's just because of the old runtime.

My dtek50 (delegated as a home wifi device now) has the same slow loading issues with firefox

I've had a similar experience. Reverted back to chrome for the time being.

FF is garbage; their recent builds have sucked on mobile.

Try Ghostery if you want more filtering sort of behavior than you get out of Chrome.

Have tried the latest FF download and while it is an improvement, there is no way it may be described as quick! Having to use Chrome to be able to surf with the phone.

I'm using Samsung's Internet Browser, like its whole layout and easy/quick accessibility to home, bookmarks, tabs, etc. Working well on all my devices.

Yes it does, Firefox for android seems to be crippled by something even bing is a much faster mover.

The advantage of Firefox on mobile is that it can use the same add-ons as the desktop version.

It is unfortunately kind of slow.

Firefox Focus is the stripped down super speedy version.

I use Focus as my default to look something up quickly, and the full Firefox when I'm going to be browsing for a while.

I would prefer to use a single browser, but mobile browsers just kind of suck in general, or lack features. This is the better combo.

I use Focus as my default browser so any random links open to it. It uses the Blink engine same as Chromium based browsers, Opera and Microsoft Edge on Android, so its not really related to Firefox on Android which uses Gecko. Blink of course gets tremendous dev resources from Google as it drives Chrome so perhaps its not surprising that Focus is faster than Firefox.

Anyone else a conspiracy theorest like me - Firefox is throttled and the google search engine, chrome, runs really fast. Coincidence?

Or maybe FF doesn't have the resources for mobile that Google does. They just put out their next gen FF browser for desktop and are slowly moving it over to mobile and quashing bugs in both in the meantime; it will just take awhile.

I have the truly awful slowness with Firefox that you mentioned, however I just assumed it was due to me running it with the added overhead of the Ublock Origin extension installed. I haven't tried it without the extension yet.

Yeah! It became unusable for me!

That big latency put me out for now. I'm trying OperaMini to see if things are better.
