There is a lot to love about the Motion, but that 1.5inch chin is ridiculous. TCL could easily have fit a 3-row (passport-style) keyboard with a spacebar finger print sensor in that chin.

It sounds like someone just fits another mouth on your chin too?

Honestly where do you grab a phone that has no bezels? I much prefer to grab it somewhere else than the screen when pulling it from my pocket or wherever else. Not in defense of the Motion, just in question towards the BezellessMovement.

I am guessing that eventually all "phones" will just be a piece of smart glass, run wirelessly by a tiny fob that stays in your pocket.

They can have their piece of glass, we'll stick with good ol' mechanical buttons/PKB's

I've mused over the design details of such a device many times; it has some issues, with the most-serious being power budget for that screen and its comms.

But it has some advantages too. One of the more-striking ones is that the same screen interface could easily be a desktop when you want it. We're not that far from the required CPU+RAM+I/O+battery to make that work and run a much "heavier" OS environment fit into something of appropriate size; witness the RPI, or most modern "smartphones". IMHO the gating factor on this is screen I/O bandwidth and how you do that wireless within both power and RF emission budgets yet maintain a high enough "image entropy" rate so it is usable for media consumption without insane artifact problems.
