Projecting the content from the phone to f.e. TV. You can cast screen of your phone or you can cast Video/Movie/Music via Chromecast/Roku/Others...
Does the Chromecast or roku app need to be on the windows pc/laptop?
it is pretty simple, put the Android phone and the Chrome cast device in the same WLAN during a simple set up of the cc stick YouTube or other apps will find the stick with the given name and you can have your app output on your TV
I have an Android device, and Cast, of in the case of Samsung, Smartview, mirrors the screen to a compatible device, in my case, a TCL Roku TV. It allows me to use my TV as a display from my phone, and say I want to see a game on Facebook Watch, or a video from YouTube, I can watch it on a 55" screen instead of my phone.
mirroring the screen is different from Google Chrome cast. mirroring is the whole screen, always and landscape or portrait. the cast I'm talking about is only the output of the app, like for me only YouTube video playing automatically landscape on TV even the mobile is portrait mode.
