What happens when you swipe UP on the home button key?

I read somewhere that when you swipe DOWN, you get the drop down of quick settings, and I thought I also kinda read somewhere else that when you swipe UP you get the quick apps ribbon...

No "apps ribbon" on swipe up far as I know.

Swiping DOWN gives access to "quick settings", swiping UP closes "quick settings".

While in an app if lightly touch/tap (not press) home button will either move back a page or close app.

Thank you for the clarification. So, there is nothing as quick then on the Motion for accessing top three apps like home button swipe up/left/right on the DTEK60 or Priv?

Not that I'm aware of. Never ever touched a Priv or DTEK50/60 so not familiar with them. My last BB was a Bold 9900 that I gave up in 2012, the Motion is my return so to speak.

Nope, the convenience key has replaced the swipe up on the Motion

Perhaps you can achieve this with a custom launcher? I use Nova Prime. I have it set up where it I swipe up all the apps appear

I installed the app "swipehomebuttton" and when you swipe up from just above the bottom it closes the app on whatever you're working on. I'd say it's the easiest thing I've added to make this phone exactly the way I wanted. I highly recommend.
