Ahh right, don't buy it unless it says $449.99 USD.. it'll be adjusted again at some point.

I won't buy it unless it's a model 100-2. But their Canadia site lists a 100-2

So, now the Amazon ad is at $449 and it says sold and shipped by Amazon.
Yeah I think someone jumped the gun yesterday and I just caught it and as soon as I pre-ordered it they took it down and put it back up today after the announcement.
It will sold out like hot cakes! Get it before it's all gone.
Yep.
always told you Verizon guys and gals , go to tmo , the uncarrier
Nothing new in Canada. You could walk into any carrier store, and purchase the Motion outright before too.

Best Buy is also accepting preorders for the Blackberry Motion. Well here in the states they are. Plus they accept PayPal unlike Amazon

Yes and no.
1) You would need to find a retailer willing to sell you one outright. One would assume that is easy, but it's not as most want you to sign up for an account or just simply want to make commission of you from a contract or are only authorized dealers who don't play by the selling outright rules.
2) A carrier sold device is still a carrier designated device and is subject to their update schedules and any possible junk bloat they put on it. So yeah, you could buy an unlocked devices given the laws it's not the exact same as a factory unlocked device.
It's misleading to claim buying from a carrier is the same as buying a factory unlocked device even if the differences are minimal.
just ordered mine
Can't. TMo has the worst service in my area - visiting friends with TMo can't even make phone calls here without having to go outside to get a signal. Verizon works perfectly.

Yeah, that's great if they can provide coverage. Most people on AT&T or Verizon are there for better coverage.
Hopefully their service gets better with that new low frequency band they're slowly rolling out. I know it's working out in the boonies of Arizona near Sedona. It's the only place in the state so far
I ordered right after this was posted on Amazon US (prime) still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation......
Bestbuy now "out of stock" when you add to cart, probably before even one phone was sold...not a smooth launch.
Same, I think I was the first person to order it from Amazon and it said it should be here by Monday but I paid for one day shipping so I'm hoping to have it by tomorrow (Saturday)...
You would think they would start shipping on release day?
Good.
But I don't think it would sell well.

My thoughts exactly
The listing appears to have been pulled from the US Amazon site; I cannot find it any more. The 100-1 model is the only one that shows up, from third-party sellers.
That means it's sold out and is reverting to other parties.
A lot of people bought theirs via the Pre-order. I know I did and mine will arrive Tuesday.
If they're already sold out that means demand is higher than what they thought it would be.
No, there are no third-party listings; the -1 model is a completely different listing.
The original Motion listing is completely gone.
Best Buy has it listed and claims it can be in-store by Friday, but their "ship to home" option has a materially longer leadtime.
When I link it's still there, you have to scroll down to Amazon "other sellers". Out of stock, but listing still there.
Listing is still there from Amazon but it says out of stock. Other sellers have it in stock but it's more expensive. I ordered mine on the 8th and it says it should be here Monday even tho I paid for one day shipping, assumed I would have it by today but no news or updates.
