A PKB phone stands out in a sea of slabs. I'd say the BlackBerry KEY devices are very unique.

Now if you are talking about the Aurora, Motion of the Evolve - especially the Evolve, then yes they blend in.

I think their slabs are even a bit unique looking...physical keyboard phones are completely set apart from the pack.

The Key devices look totally unique and use an OS that isn’t dead.

In what sense is BB Key unique? There is only one OS for both Key and Motion. There is a difference between external appearance Only. Finally, the BBM service has been suspended.

The keyboard is more than aesthetics.

It's a production powerhouse - 52 keyboard shortcuts, speedkey, gestures, etc.

Btw, BlackBerry is offering BBM Enterprise free for a year.

BlackBerry's with the PKB is very unique....compared to most devices out there....they are the only device in the world with a PKB. Iconic to Blackberry.

BlackBerry lost its uniqueness when they dropped their own operating system and great services.
A physical keyboard doesn't make the phone unique. It stands out because people when see you using it, they think it is an ancient obsolete gadget like the one with a monochrome display.

The KEY series are unique by definition. I feel very proud of my K2 silver.
A sexy phone, performing like a charm. What else?
I chose it due to its uniqueness.

BBM makes them unique? It has been cross-platform for a while.

Indeed I agree with you totally. A blackberry is a blackberry even though I’m not a fan of android.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that lol, but it definitely brings an "old school" vibe to people who see it.

However, the last time those people saw a phone with a keyboard, it was probably some BBOS Curve or Bold with a tiny display, and not a KEY with a nice and clear 4.5" LCD in a traditional rectangular smartphone form factor.

And that is the problem. Plus younger generations have grown up with vkb and are just fine with it. We are becoming dinosaurs.
