This follows the BBD100-2 passing through a couple weeks ago.

As it stands, here's the model and band situation from FCC/WiFi/Bluetooth SIG docs:

Nothing yet. There's two models that exist in WiFi and Bluetooth certifications (-3, -6), plus the two models that should therefore exist (-4, -5), assuming that they stopped at 6.

If one of them is a CDMA model we'd find out when it hits the FCC.

I'm reeeeeeeeally hoping CDMA hits soon. I'm always waiting on that silly version. Maybe I'll finally switch carriers.

Maybe it'll pass through FCC soon. At least that is my hope.

I'm interested to know how did they add band 66 support to the 625... separate baseband?

The Alcatel Idol 5S has a 625 and LTE band 66, so however Alcatel did it before, probably.

So I guess this has a similar functional design as the Idol 5s, maybe even share the board layout.

Band 66 is a superset of Bands 4 and 10, (4 is the original T-Mobile AWS allocation, 10 extends the upper frequency range of 4.) It doesn't surprise me that the 625 has no problem accessing it for that reason. This is similar to Band 17, which is an upper frequency subset of Band 12. You still need an antenna design that can resonate over the wider range, of course, to get acceptable performance.
