BB Motion / Oreo 8.1.0 Screen Weirdness - Help Please

Hi All,

I just updated my BB Motion (unlocked, BBD100-2) to Oreo 8.1.0 and it seems the home button/screen interaction has gone weird.

When I swipe/touch the home button without depressing it, it seems to go into a sort of cursor select mode where if I then move my finger over it, it will highlight the screen, the fixed icons at the bottom of the home screen, the rest of the icons, and I can swipe through them in order but not select any into action.

Does anyone know what is going on with this and how I can stop it? It's particularly frustrating as a slight touch of the home button sends the phone into this 'selecting mode'. To get out of this useless 'selecting mode' I have to touch the home screen.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

It has been reported in other threads as well.
Seems like a bug or a feature half baked.
Hopefully BlackBerryMobile will push out an update soon to correct the same

I wonder why BBMo didn't run a BETA on the Motion? Maybe Motion owners wouldn't be going through all of this. I'm on the fence of getting myself a Motion I have the Key2 but I'm having a lot of trouble adjusting to the keyboard. (it's really sensitive) though it's bigger and feels better than the KEYone I think it's time for me to hang it up and just use the touch screen on the Motion.
