    Hello all,

    I have been using a Motion for a few weeks now, everything works as I had hoped, only one point bothers me a lot...

    Apps in the multitasking view are closed after some time by itself, at least they no longer appear there.

    I can't find a corresponding setting anywhere. The BlackBerry's software is up to date for the Motion.

    Does anyone have an idea and can help me?

    I had the same problem with my Motion before it decided to crap out on me. I attributed the closing of the apps to the device simply not have enough RAM to keep them open. It was a midrange device when released & even behind the curve compared to several other manufactures' devices at the time. I can't imagine trying to use the Motion as a daily driver now days with such little RAM & storage. I moved to a OnePlus 7 Pro & 7T Pro a few years ago. They are my daily drivers & have been a much better experience than the Motion ever was. I still sorely miss my Q10 & Z30 but they are dinosaurs now & almost useless now days.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    The point with the RAM I can understand, I just wanted to make sure that it really is, and I have not overlooked a setting.

    For me or my usage behavior, the Motion is absolutely sufficient at the moment, but I also miss my Passport very much...

    Might check power setting to see if the apps in question are being shutdown or put to sleep to conserver power...

    I understand completely. I use my phone for everything pretty much so I need a power user device. I'd be using my Motion as a bedside alarm clock now but the damned thing is stuck in the boot menu. I had let it discharge & forget about it for a long while which I believe corrupted it. Now it's a brick in a box. It's a shame because it's in near mint cosmetic condition. Life goes on after BlackBerry.

    @Dunt Dunt: Dunt: thanks for pointing that out, can you tell me where I can look it up?
    @The_Dark_Knight_Forever:

    Good point, for a heavy user the Motion is probably really nothing anymore. That's a real shame if it's no longer usable!

    I am having a similar problem on my KEY2, suddenly (1 day ago) camera software closes so I can't use the camera, tried rebooting phone, shutting down but nothing changed, so had to uninstall the software and use the default version 1.1.3736.0803 instead of 3.1.3130.0710... any suggestions?

    Unfortunately, usually, this is a sign of the phone on its way out. I had this with my blackberry priv. The phone would be running fine and an app would just close. I think it also has to do with the fact that these phones are way behind the curve. And the operating system is attempting to free up ram causing other issues.

    I have to agree. The Android BlackBerries apparently don't have the longevity of the legacy & BB10 OS devices. I miss BB10 so much.

    Of course that's only because Android is still being developed, and older phones can't keep up with the changes. No such issues with BB10 and BBOS - unless you count the ability to make phone calls.

    Thank you for your contributions!
    I'm afraid I really have to resign myself to the fact that the device is simply obsolete...
