This is new one for me. My Internet connection keeps going off and on even though I show a wifi signal. The connection keeps stuttering off and on and is getting worse. I can reconnect for a short while if I turn the wifi off and on. Internet works fine on mobile data so something is wrong with the wifi.I have cleared the cache and have done the 32 second reboot but the problem persists. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

there is another thread in discussions forums talking about the same. when I have WiFi on my battery seems to drop quickly, one suggestion was a factory reset but I am personally not doing that as I don't have that much time on my hands. I will put up and wait until April update

I agree. a factory reset would be awful for me as well. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Hopefully somebody can figure out a fix. anybody else out there having this issue?

Maybe try in settings to forget the network and reset it again.

I called BlackBerry Mobile today. they suggested Network Setting Reset. Worked for a few hours but the problem returned. any other ideas??? The strange thing is the phone seems to be receiving the signal, in settings it tells me I am connected and everything is OK. but the phone doesn't seem to let the signal through.

Having the same issue with keyone on Rogers. Works for a few minutes, then stops suddenly...had to disable wifi and am using my data in order to make this post.

I went out shortly after I did the reset and have only been on WiFi again for about 45 minutes. That said, it hasn't failed yet which is better than before.

I've said this before, there is no magical solution. Nothing has system-level access to correct the problem.

Only a factory reset or a wipe-autoloader can do it.

Conite, I think you might be right. I was so hoping I would avoid such a big undertaking for me. Hopefully Luke can report this morning if his phone/wifi is still cooperating after yesterday's reset.

If there was a WiFi issue introduced with this last update, I don't see how a factory reset is going to resolve it.

I called BlackBerry Mobile this afternoon. the guy suggested I do a factory reset which would return it to my first build ( last June's) but not to let it update until the April patch was available. Wifi was working for that build is his premise. I'm certainly not spending the month with all last year's vulnerabilities so I figure I'll use mobile data until the end of the month. Not much of a fix in my opinion.

That is definitely misinformation. It does not restore the OS back to the very first install. It just reverts your phone to be like it is a fresh install with the latest update you last installed.

Wow....you'd think they would know what they are doing. it will take me forever to rebuild this phone after a reset which is why I am so reluctant to do that unless I know it will cure the problem. Is your wifi still OK after your reset? Thanks for the prompt response by the way.

I was experiencing the wifi drop out in my home for the last few weeks. I finally bit the bullet and performed a factory reset a few hours ago. The problem has not surfaced yet. Fingers crossed.
