My Z30 connects to Link but it takes forever to read the contents (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't), but when it does and shows the contents of the phone, it fails to back up, with an error message stating to verify the device is on and connected, which it is. Don't know if this has to do with the fact that the back of the phone is bulging (it's just been sitting in a drawer for quite a while, never used an unapproved charger or anything that would damage the battery), but I'm just trying to get a backup of it as I don't know how safe it is to have this bulging phone lying around. It works fine and I can access it from the PC, it just won't back up.

Same prob for me too, since Fall Win 10 Update. It used to work then didn't backup after this update. Only got it to work once based upon another forum post that said to run BBLink as Admin. Haven't got it to work since that one time.

Thanks! This fixed it for me on my Z30, Windows 10.....the pertinent step was DISABLING the USB Mass Storage:

    -------------------------------------------------
Ensure the USB Connection setting on the device is set to the applicable setting:
Settings > Storage and Access > USB Connection
Autodetect or Connect to Windows [Windows computer]
    Connect to Mac [Mac computer]
***Ensure USB Mass Storage Mode is disabled on the device****
Ensure that Charge Only Mode is disabled on the device

    --------------------------------------------------

As soon as I turned off Mass Storage, got all the connection pop ups happening on my PC...BBLink requested password then connected to the device and all is fine.
I don't have "USB Connection" under "Storage and Access". Only "Access Using USB" with no "Connect to Windows".
It's weird that I can't access my media using link but I can using Blend!
Also, the first time I connect to my link it gives error message indicating inability to save device name.

Is there something wrong or I have to live with it?

Enabling SMB v1 file sharing support is what should get it working for you. But disable it again once you're done, as leaving it enabled is a rather serious security issue.
