Just upgraded Q5 to Z30, using BB Link, with both plugged in to PC using USB. The Switch device process appeared to work OK and the Z30 downloaded 10.3 at same time. However checking the contacts transferred showed big discrepancies, with Q5 reporting 455 contacts, but the Z30 only 322 and some, imported from LinkedIn, stripped of any additional data e.g. phone no.s, which I had manually added to auto populated data LinkedIn supplied on the Q5. I cant identify any 'logic' to what has been skipped, but may be the older contacts.
Also no call history or SMS text history was brought across - I thought these should come across as part of the process.
Any ideas - if I repeat the process I am worried I will lose the many hours that I spent adding many contacts manually back in to the Z30....but really want the text and call history, and missing contacts....thanks

Wipe the Z30 and instead of using Link, try the Device Switch app. Keep in mind that things NOT transferred when using any of the switching methods - BlackBerry 10 OS - US

I recommend the app Ultimate Backup. It will store SMS contacts , photos, call logs and more to SD card and Cloud. Makes device switching easy.
