I am pretty sure that many people can agree with me that link is just awful. I don't even know where to begin. Its hard to know what is syncing and what isn't. Also my main gripe is the lag!

And I am pretty confident it is not my computers fault. Intel I7, 32gb of ram, 256gb SSD, dedicated graphics, liquid cooling, pretty much a $4,000 set up. And welp it makes my computer lag. So I have no clue how these guys coded this software but it's terrible. Also my Z10 wants to connect sometimes, and other times it doesn't.

Does anyone else have these problems with link?

Link has been working for me since the last few updates. No more freezes.

Sometimes there is a hidden Window waiting for you to enter a password to access the device. This may be an issue you are running into.

Remote file access works great now.

Link works fine for my z10. It takes some tinkering to learn it, but it's not difficult.

I think there's a few people that have problems with link and that those problems may be a common issue, possibly incompatibility with some other program or software that is present.....to judge it as a pos because a few people can't use it is harsh...expecially when others that have no technical knowledge whatsoever (my wife) can use it flawlessly

Yeah, Link is Garbage. It works well enough... half the time. It's crashed my computer a few times.

Regardless, the new version is substantially better. .. still pretty shifty overall

Yes, after 10.2.1 BlackBerry need to do some work on link. Better documentation, better messages, a conffigurattion wizzard.
    Twweaks to prevent crashes.
separate backup for password keeper. Allow individual backup of apps. Encryption of backup files. Option to copy backups to cloud storage...
    Just some ideas.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles. I've had none of the issues others have reported. I find the remote file access to be particularly useful.

BlackBerry Protect would solve this if they would release a functional version like legacy BBOS

I think its only purpose is to annoy users.

Link is buggy, for sure. But I've been able to get it to play nice. My only real gripe is that it doesn't recognize the FLAC music files on my sd card. I've looked and looked and not found a fix...

Link is one of the worst pieces of software. It is shameful for BlackBerry to provide it.

It works for me, most of time. However, the fact that it works does NOT mean it is okay.

It works for most of you, no doubt.

    But, come on!!
    Restore is unbelievably dumbed down.

We should be able to restore what we need as we need it. Password keeper only? Check. Contacts? Check.

Second, link has the worst idea ever regarding synchronization.
How can it possibly DEMAND that the calendar it creates in you phone be the only one it will sync with your outlook?
It totally ignores your own calendar in your phone. Who's stupid idea was that??

It feels like it was made by a 10year old. It's basic. It's does whole backup and restore. That's about it.

Depending upon what you need to backup and restore, Fire Chest Backup may be your thing. It's an app in BB World.
