Is link open when you try remote? Is it on, on the phone? Mass USB?
Yes, yes and no. I remember that it told me that it needs to communicate with the device before it can remotely communicate with the phone if i disable it.

Plug your USB in, then unplug your router.

Having the same problem with BB Link for Mac. Link will not connect to the device. And yes, I did turn on "connect to mac" under USB connection in settings.

If you are using usb what does the router have to do with it?

For some reason anytime I connect my z10 to my mac via link, I have to remove my micro SD card from my phone first or it will not communicate properly with the device.

Is it that difficult to write software that works? I am not going to start randomly unplugging or disconnecting things.

I don't know what that has to do with it but just try unplugging your router and plugging your blackberry via USB and see if that works. I think the older router is the problem.

All that I am saying is that I had the same issue and I solved it by switching routers.

I'm thinking there is a prob with Link and OS 10.3 beta.

On home laptop it was never a prob for Link to "see" my Z10 ( the laptop did acknowledge the USB connection) but now it is not recognizing the device after I loaded 10.3.0.0296.

I have heard, all types of apps being used to clean devices and so forth, why?

I don't have the privilege of a router and only have my phone data to make any connection with other devices.

I believe it simply depends on the data signal and its not all the time at most of the time, that even when my phone connects, my folders don't appear for a while.

    Hello all,

This this issue get resolved? I'm not having this issue since updating to Windows 8.1. My Q10 is running 10.2.1.2156. I'm not really sure what to do???

I just restarted my q10, still no connection. I re-installed Link, still no connection, I downloaded and installed net framework 4.5.1 still nothing...

    This is so damn ridiculous...

I cant backup my phone or anything...

I'm having the same problem with Link. I have the Q10 running leaked OS 10.3.1.745. I have Link installed on my 2 laptops. One is running Win 8.1 and can't communicate with Link. An older pc running Win 7 has no problem. Believe me I have read every post related to this and tried everything suggested. I still cannot get Link to work with Win 8.1. I hope BB does something about this soon.

My Q10 had issues of being recognised by the Link via Wi-Fi from time to time. However, what solved my problem was setting the Link to start with Windows. It is worth noticing that I run Windows 7 Professional version with 64 bit and my OS version is 10.2.2.984.

If the device manager can recognise the device, then can you see your device listed in my computer? If not open device manager and see whether your device volumes are mounted. If not try mounting the device volumes manually by double clicking them or right click mount at least once.. and then try to connect with link. .. anticipating that you are using USB connection.. if the connection mode is wifi then also this device manager should work.
If its not happening then try from device's file manager and see that whether it can access your computer.. let me know the outcome. Then will be able to tell you further.

Sir, you are the "one"! I have been scouring the internet trying to find the issue for BB Link not recognizing my Passport,...as I have not been able to perform a "Backup" in months! This is just dandy! Your suggestion to check the "Device Manager" fixed my issue in less than 20 seconds!
