They should keep Z10 form factor but have a bigger screen, thinner bezels and bigger battery.

Aha. Well, that puts to rest the question spinning around in my head, which was, why hasn't BlackBerry let this one out of the bag as well?

If it is the Z3 LTE? Z20 sounds more like a Z10 successor and that Z3 doesn't fit to be successor as the specs are outdated /old not even 2014/15.. agh. The Z10 needs a better successor. Why not name it Z3x orZ3e Z3 bold or whatever... but eh, we will need to wait and see

The Z20 isn't supposed to have a high end specs. It's not a flagship phone. I think it's just a mid end phone with ok specs, which I guess qualify with the rumor specs of the Z3 LTE

As long as its not a downgrade on the specs of the current Z10 because that will be a huge step backwards in early 2015.

    Exactly my point.

Also from what I've seen, the Z3 LTE specs is nothing special. It's not supposed to be a huge update but remember we are in 2014 going 2015 the Z10 specs were already 'outdated' by that time with only 720p spec.. I'm just worried that's all. For me, I would want a Z30 specs at least...

People keep talking about "outdated specs". If your phone running BB10 runs fine with 1.5ghz and 2gb RAM, why do you need 3ghz and 4gb ram just because a year or 2 have passed by? Specs are outdated when they can no longer run the latest OS on the phone. Playbook specs are outdated, 9900 specs are outdated, Z10 specs aren't. I know that it would be a bummer if they reduced the specs or kept the specs the same as we are looking forward to an "upgrade" but there is no point calling specs outdated when they do the job they are supposed to at that current time.

When we take a look at the specs of the flagships that will be release at the same time it's hard to believe that BB will sell lot of them. I sincerly hope that BB wil reveal a good phone and sell many of them. But it seems that BB have already loose this fight. Samsung Note 4, iPhone 6, Motorola and even Nokia will be here too with new phones. And there will be the Nexus 6 too (2K screen, 805, 4GB...) and his price...
Don't be wrong, I want to see BB back. I don't want to have to deal with only two maybe three OS. But I'm asking if it's not already too late for Blackberry. But if they don't release a high speced device people will ignore the device. Even if it will release at a low price (don't forget that Nexus will cost something around 300)

Just my two cents. And my very poor english too

Sorry for my very very poor english. :-/

No issue with what you say. I'm not chasing specs per se. I just want my Z20 to be able to run the apps and games that will be running on smart phones for at least the duration of a 2 year contract. If I procure a Z20 in December 2014, it has to be future proof enough to run apps and games produced in November 2016.

I BASICALLY agree with you, but I think there's a decent possibility of more RAM, a faster processor, and a higher-rez display.

We are talking Foxconn, after all. They have a lot more flexibility when it comes to device configuration.

Its also not only about the performance, but also the form factor/dimensions. Personally I prefer 4.2 inches and not 5 inches: here's hoping that the Z20 will be closer to the Z10 than the z30, as this is a personal preference for screen size. If the specs are worse than the current Z10 and the screen is 5 inches, I can't imagine getting a Z20. If a Z50 is not available when I have to upgrade, I'm left with one choice: getting a Z30.

I want specs so it's future proofed. I don't want it to PlayBook.

Yeah, I want something at least a step or two up from the current Z10. Slightly bigger screen within the same physical device size, more installed ram. Memory as is at 2gb is fine.

And even that would get you about in line with most other current mid-range devices. Even the Z30 now doesn't really measure up.

With Foxconn, they can now dabble a bit in the spec wars - or at least make the effort.

I agree with Thurask. Rebadged Z3 LTE if anything and that's assuming it's even legit. Not a shot at anyone, just saying I'd like to see something a little more solid then some text from an email personally. Also, all these new names kill me a little inside lol. Q30, Z20, Z50 -- most of them aren't even legit names. It's stuff created so people have SOMETHING to call it other than the internal names and some are well, not even real.

If that downgrade comes with a substantial price cut, the market may forgive it.
