    BlackBerry Rio 'Z20' Specs

What do you guys think, personally I hope there's a high end touch device in the works because this one definitely won't be on my "buy" list.

Pretty disappointing. If it will be in the 300$ price range, why build it? There's already the Z30; with better specs :-P
Just build a 400$ device with a downclocked quad-core (1.6-1.8), a mid GPU (one like the Z30 one),2GB of ram, 32 GB of internal. Same 8MP camera of the Z30, a fullHD screen and a 3000mah battery. For 400$ that would be great and will-imo-sell! Not that thing!

If they are targeting the enterprise market this phone makes perfect sense. They need a cheap phone that can be bought in bulk by large firms. Let's be honest companies are not buying the newest flagship for all the employees who want a touch device, but a $300 phone is affordable.

It would be nice to have a chipset with the built in LTE and GPU in it to go with a nice high resolution all touch device. But Not going to happen is it? It's a sad Christmas

Well it is Z10 with Z3 form, Z30 Battery.

Anyway this device still considered as manitoba or the Z3 LTE. Will have to touch it first, and still waiting for full touch with passport specifications.

I see your point, but..there's already the Z30! In March (when this Z20 seems to come out) the Z30 will cost around 300$ pretty everywhere..

This is the Foxconn version of the "almost" Z30 so it will be built much more affordably with minimal risk to BlackBerry.

The Rio, Passport, and Classic now have the Enterprise covered.

Hopefully we will still see a higher end all touch come fall '15 which is the Z30 cycle replacement time.

    Nice find!

But I have to admit, that I'd rather see an upgraded Z10 instead of that!
The form factor of the Z10 is perfect (to me) for an all-touch device.

Blackberry should just improve things people have been complaining about.
    Like: Battery life and camera.

And additional some upgraded specs., like: 3GB of RAM and a 1.8GHz processor (like the one from the Z30), FM Radio and still let it with a removable battery.

That would all be enough to throw out a great device!

I personally also don't like those "hard/sharp" edges...

Good point. A relatively affordable full touch BlackBerry option for enterprise? And the 2800mAh battery guarantees solid battery life during the working day.

Seems to have essentially the same specs as a Z10 with a larger screen. If you can get the Z10 for $200, anything over $199 CDN/USD for this phone would seem overpriced. I can't see myself recommending it to anyone if they launch it at $299 as you'd be better off with a Z10 probably and a spare battery. Or wait for another Z30 sale.

If this is sold to enterprise customers in bulk, I can see it being good enough that a lot of people getting this as a company phone might not see the need to renew their personal phone contracts, and opt to use this as their only device after trying BB10.

Suddenly BB would have a growing consumer market base via the enterprise route driving app, device demand on the personal side… Bypassing carriers in the process, and effectively letting the enterprise customers, and by extension their employees, do BB's marketing… Chen might be onto something here…

Even if built by Foxconn I still don't understand the meaning of this device. Just ask Foxconn to build some thousands of Z30 for BlackBerry..

They already have the lines setup for the Z3, and many of the parts will be the same - chosen specifically for low cost and high availability.

Yes but z10's cannot be produced anymore...
So only some leftovers will be available. Maybe when they launch the rio there even will not be any z10 available (new one).
