I know this may sound weird, but I sold my Passport and purchased the Leap. The form factor of the Passport just wasn't to my liking. So far, I must say, I'm very happy with my decision :)

That's good! Brave of you to do so.

Well, I moved from a Z10 to the Leap and so far have not regretted it. It performs as I need it, for what I need it.
A pretty solid and well made device. Cannot compare it with a Passport, since I've never owned one though I am familiar with it, having played around with display models in different carrier and retail stores.
I wanted to move from the Z10, and the Leap, at the price or comes with an all the rest, was a good choice. By the way I am keeping the Z10 as a back-up device for the foreseeable future.

Well, that didn't last long...lol. Got my case and removed the protective cover from the camera to find the plastic cracked. So, the leap is going back to Amazon and I'm back to my Z10 with the extended battery.

Wow that sucks
Blackberry Passport running 10.3.2.798
You might be better off buying it directly from BlackBerry. I got mine factory unlocked from them and it was free shipping...
I doubt that it was factory damaged. I've bought from Amazon for years. Most of the time I have no issues with them. But once in a while, they've lost my purchased item, or shipped it at the wrong address...and I've had some of the items purchased delivered with some damages...

Think that I'm just gonna stick with my Z10 for now. It's fairly new, has a Mugen extended battery and besides a bigger screen, the leap really isn't much of an upgrade, imo.

I'm also keeping my Z10 as a back-up for a while still. But the Leap was a good investment for me. I'm on a pre-paid service, so any device I want, I have to buy full-price. Besides my carrier no longer sells BlackBerry devices...except some leftover Q5's. So I had to get my Leap directly from BlackBerry.
Oh, I wasn't sure about the Leap either in the beginning . Until I tried a demo unit at in a store. My initial impression of this device, when it was announced, it was that of some cheap, crummy smartphone, BlackBerry's desperate attempt at an entry level device.
But once I actually saw it and handled it...quite a different experience and feeling.
Yes, there is no mini-HDMI output (though that can be solved on the Leap by buying a micro-usb adapter for HDMI output), there is also no compass, no 5 GHz frequency and also no NFC. But you know what, based on the fact that I've had those on the Z10 and almost never used them...it wasn't a big deal not having them on the Leap.
And yes some of the other specs are similar to the Z10 and less than the Z30. But the Z10, Z30, Q10 and Q5 are first generation BB10 devices. The Leap, Passport and Classic are second generation . So too will be the upcoming Slider.
So while the Leap is not necessarily a straight up replacement for the Z10...it is an upgrade. Larger battery and better battery life. Bigger screen, which I find better than the one on the Z10 and Z30.
I like the design, looks and feels good in the hands. Didn't get that cheap crap feeling. Plus the Leap is optimised to run the latest BB10 OS version.
Point being this phone suits my needs, and it has a good price for what I got in return from it in terms of functionality and usefulness.
I am just not willing to dole out a large sum of money on a supposedly high-end, premium device, which when I end up measuring against the Leap, doesn't look all that impressive and worth the asking price. So at $349 (Canadian) dollars, the Leap ain't too shabby.
If the Leap is not on the horizon for you, better wait for the Slider, maybe it has better specs, better design etc.
Or who knows maybe at the end of this year or beginning of next, we might get another high-end, flagship, full-touch BlackBerry smartphone ...that would be a clear replacement for the Z10 and Z30.
Whatever you decide, good luck and all the best!
